The general strike of the teachers will proceed as planned as the state government has yet to invite them for talks to discuss on the their demands despite the fact that two weeks have passed since the teaching community have taken a resolution to boycott their duties from 22 August till 4 September on 5 August.

Thousands of school students will be affected in these two weeks in which around 14, 000 teachers will me skipping their duties across the state.

In a conversation with leaders of JACATAM they have informed that the strike will proceed as planned because till date the state government has not taken any initiative with regards to their demands.

“We have given the state government two weeks time to response to our demands however it seems that the government is not concern about the problems faced by the students and this action of the government indicates that they want to encourage the teaching community to proceed with its general strike as was called by JACATAM”, said one teacher on Sunday.
