Jowai, Jube 02: The Jaintia Hills District Bar Association, Jowai in its Special Urgent General Meeting held today the 2.6.2017 strongly condemned the inhuman and uncivilised act of Shri Emerald Siangshai against one of our learned member of the Bar Association on the 31.5.2017 in the Court premises. In this regard the Bar Association sincerely appreciate the prompt action taken by the Superintendent of Police, West Jaintia Hills District and his team which enable the Police to rescued our Learned friend and also arrested the culprit in time.
The Bar Association also request the investigating agency to uphold high standard of fairness during investigation of this case and also to book appropriate Sections of law based on the offences committed by the culprit which is a very serious crime against women and also to speed up the investigation of the case.
The Bar Association also highly appreciates the immediate action taken by the four members of our Bar Association namely Shri E. T. Sajem, Advocate, Miss S. Dkhar, Advocate, Smt R. Siangshai, Advocate and Smt D. Suchiang, Advocate who immediately took prompt action and informed the Police to save the life of our Learned friend who is a victim in this case.
Lastly the Bar Association express its wishes and vision that the rule of law becomes the reality by urging every concerned authority to take up this case seriously as to deter this sort of crime against women in future.
