Lieutenant Gene  Gurbirpal of the Director General NCC reviews training activities in tripura

Shillong, March 16: Director General of National Cadet Corps( DG NCC ) Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh, AVSM,VSM visited Agartala, Tripura on 15 and 16 March 2022 to review NCC activities in the North Eastern Sector of India.

The General officer was briefed by Major General Bhaskar Kalita, YSM, Additional Director General ,North Eastern Region (ADG NER)and Group Commanders on the myriad activities undertaken by the cadets of all states in the North Eastern Region.

The General Officer interacted with Shri Ratan Lal Nath, Minister for Education Government of Tripura and officials of the State Government and discussed various issues including creating of dedicated infrastructure for NCC, border area expansion plan.

Commencement of NCC as elective subject in colleges and need for giving an overall impetus to NCC activities in the State of Tripura,  which has a wide foot print of NCC with approximately 6000 Cadets from 95 Schools & Colleges from the eight districts of the States with as many as approximately 2500 Girl Cadets.

The General Officer lauded the efforts of the units, cadets and instructors and conferred awards on deserving cadets, instructors and civilian staff of the NCC units in Tripura.
