Shillong, Aug 05: Lt Gen A Chakravarty, VSM, Director General National Cadet Corps will be visiting NCC Directorate, North Eastern Region (NER), Shillong from 5th to 7th Aug 2014. As part of his visit to the North Eastern Region the DG NCC had already inspected and reviewed NCC training at NCC Group Headquarters, Dibrugarh on 4th Aug 2014.
At the NCC Directorate, NER the DG NCC will be reviewing the NCC Training being imparted to 88,000 cadets in 1000 Schools and Colleges in the state of Meghalaya, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura respectively. He will be visiting the NCC Group Headquarters of Shillong and Guwahati. In addition interaction with the State Administration of Meghalaya and Assam is scheduled. He will discuss the NCC activities and the way forward of enhancing the NCC coverage in both the states by raising of new NCC Battalions and upgradation of existing NCC units.(SP News)
