Shillong, May 14: The Meghalaya police On 13.05.16, intelligence input was received the District Police of HNLC Cadres from Bangladesh entering the District. All Police Units were alerted and Police check Points were placed all over the city. The SOT carrying out intensive patrolling.
At around 9:40 pm, the SOT naka intercepted one vehicle bearing ML05 M 3807 Maruti Alto on the NH 40 at Mawlieh View Point, near Langkyrdem.On immediate checking, 2(two)AK 56, 1(one) with 105 live Chinese rounds, 9mm Mauser with 24 live 9mm rounds, 2(two) Improvised Claymore Explosives(15.7Kgs) in2(two) Claymore Boxes, 2(two) Timer Devices inside plastic spectacle boxes, 2(two)battery power sources, 1(one) Multimeter Voltage Testor were recovered.
The Bomb Disposal Squad was immediately called to de-activate the explosive where 6 pieces of Commercial Electrical Detonators were detonated using Cordex wire at the spot itself. On preliminary interrogation, it was ascertained that 3 of the apprehended perons are HNLC cadres while one is an ULFA cadre.
The names of the cadres arrested are Shri Nobleson Rynjah @Bah Duh @Jack 23yrs of 2003 batch HNLC, from Mawlai Mawkynroh; Shri Phrankor Rynjah @Heh 33 yrs (HNLC 2001 batch) of Smit, Umtyngngew. Shri Kyrseiboklang Lyngdoh 23 yrs of Lapalang under Pynursla police station am overground cadre of the HNLC. Shri Bikhat Ahom @Smam 29 yrs of Dalaigaon , Bongaigaon, Assam. A case has been registered vide Pynursla PS Case No. 12(5)16 u/s 120B/121 IPC r/w Sec 25(1-b)/27Arms Act / Section 5 Explosive Act and Section 10/13 UAP. Investigation is on to ascertain the extent of their activities and their linkages with over ground elements.
