More than 2000 BSF Jawans observed the International Yoga Day in Shillong

Shillong, June 21: To mark the third International Yoga Day (IYD), the Border Security Force organized Yoga Camps at FTR HQr, BSF campus and its under command units in which more than 2000 men in uniform including Officers and Jawans observed the International Yoga Day along with the international community at Tura and Shillong locations.

The importance of yoga has been felt among the armed forces after the signs of intense stress and a psychological problems which have been noticed after these men are forced to live in extreme monotony, physical and mental stress away from their families. The need to enhance their robustness physical as well as mental, has been demanding to follow the old and traditional ways to achieve  it besides their routine PT regime.

The holistic approach of yoga is well established around the globe. It brings harmony in all walks of life and thus, known for disease prevention, health promotion and management of many lifestyle-related disorders. Yoga helps the human being to lead heir life up to a supreme level of spirituality which gives immense happiness and peace. So Yoga can play a crucial role in transferring the materialistic society to a spiritual society. Yoga is not only a subject to be taught in a call but it is the medium of manifestation of all qualities in human being throughout his life.

Living with freedom in all walks of life, health and harmony are the main objectives of yoga practice. The practice was also organized at the border out posts also. The BSF has more than 1500 troops trained from Patanjali Yogapeeth, Haridwar to spread further awareness in the force about yoga and its impact in physical and spiritual life.
