Movement and gathering of five or more persons prohibited

Shillong, May 04:The District Magistrate East Garo Hills District, has promulgated and order under Section 144 CrPC in the entire district prohibiting carrying of lathis, stones, fire-arms and other weapons that may hurt human and cause damage to properties, movement and gathering of 5 or more persons within the district during the time of election with an intention to disturb peace and tranquility and carry out any activity that may disrupt the conduct of free and fair elections in the district, prevention or any act to disrupt normal life of the people, defacement of public property with slogan and posters and use of loud-speakers before 6 a.m and after 10 p.m without prior permission of the concerned authority.
