Shillong, June 21: The three NGO,s the FKJGP, HYNF and the RBYF today hold sit in demonstration near the additional secretariat to opposed to the railway project in the Khasi Hills region.
Seeing this demonstration the home minister Mr HDR Lyngdoh call the leaders of this organisation to his officer chamber to talk to these NGOs on the issue of the railway project that was stall by the KSU.
In the meeting with the Home Minister, the three NGOs submit their memorandum and in the memorandum they have mention that they stand opposed to the railway project since the state government has been lagging in materialising the demand of the thirteen NGOs with regard to the completion of entry and exit point to check influx.
Speaking to media person after the Meeting with the Home Minister the president of the FKJGP Mr Wellbirth Rani said that from their side they haave made it clear to the Home Minister that the Government should kept in abeyance the construction of the Railway line till the government has put in place the mechanism to check influx.
From the NGOs they have asked the home minister to stop immediately in hunting the KSU members and the government should call for the meeting to discuss on the issue of Railway Project in the state, and in the meeting the government should also include the KSU.
The president of the HNYF Mr Sadon Blah said that in the democratic set up, the government should call for the discussion the more the delay the more thing will be complicated, only in the discussion will clear the doubt or misconception on the particular issue. The clear position will will emerge only after they meet the Chief Minister and the NGOs also will be able to take their stad,
The NGOs leaders said that from the home minister Mr HDR Lyngdoh assured them that he will convey what they have discussed to the Chief Minister to call for the meeting at the earliest. On the issue related to the arrest of people the Home Minister said that they have not hunt the KSU Members but the arrest base on their personal crime that they have committed.
