Shillong, August 16: 71st Independence Day of India was celebrated in North Eastern Police Academy, Umsaw, Meghalaya in a befitting manner. For celebrating the Independence Day 2017, various events like Prabhat Pheri, Cultural Programmes, Flag Hoisting, Parade,etc were organized at North Eastern Police Academy Campus.
During the investiture ceremony, someof the officials of NEPA were given ‘Director’s Commendation Disc (Silver)’ and ‘Director’s Commendation Certificate’ along with Cash Reward in recognition of their excellent and remarkable service.
To commemorate the day, a friendly football match was also organized between police trainees/staff versus students of Union Christian College. The students of Union Christian College won the match and the players were given prizes.
