Shillong, January 14: The Shillong police with three days after getting the complaint from one lady that she was molested by unidentified person covering his head with the helmet at her residence in Madan Laban tried to rape her inside the house.
The police on Friday manage to arrest one person namely Mr Mithu Ravi Das 25 years of Oakland Road after profiling the suspect. The case was register at Laban Police station, Case No. 5(1)2017 U/S 354 IPC.
The police received the complaint on 11.01.2017 from Smti. Debasmita Gupta that on 10.01.2017 at around 10.30 Am an unidentified person covered with helmet entered into her house located at Madan Laban claiming to be a plumber.
She opened the door for him and then he locked the main door of her house. He then asked whether her husband is in the house or not and she said no . Soon after that he held her from the back. He pushed her on the floor but she could manage to escape from him and he fled away from the spot. A case was registered vide Laban P.S Case No. 5(1)2017 U/S 354 IPC.
