Shillong, August 21: After the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department file the First Information report (FIR) with the Ranikor police station, the officer in charge has directed his subordinate officer of the Borsora police out post to investigate the case.
Base on the FIR, the police has investigated, and they have retrieved back the GI Pipes that was cut into shorter length, and they were brought back to Ranikor Police station to be kept into their custody. The police have registered the case.
The FIR file by the Junior Engineer (PHE) RWS, said that the pipes line laid at Chimasora and Maheskhola village of the South West KHasi Hills District have been stolen by unknown miscreant on the 25th May 2016. After the inspection it was found that 22 numbers of 65 mm diameters of GI Pipes are missing from the site.
The FIR also mention that the pipes line were meant to catter drinking water supply to the above mentioned two villages and club under Maheskhola- Chimasora combine water supply scheme.
Though the police have retrieved some of the GI Pipes, but they are yet to ascertain, who is the person behind who has committee this theft on the government property.
