Shillong, April 28: One person Shri.Bakhraw Kharryngi of Tyrsad was apprehended by the villagers of Mawliehpoh, tied up and wrongfully confined for the whole night at Mawliehpoh LP School, Tyrsad.
The people of the village accusing him of practising witchcraft. The said person was then brought to Tyrsad Umkseh on Sunday night at around 8.45 AM and kept there till he was rescued today at around 12.00 Noon by the police.
The victim filed an FIR against Shri.King Rani, Bantei Rani, Aikos Mary Sawkmie, Roy Rani, Headman of Mawliehpoh village, and Kral Rangslang, Headman of Pomsanngut village for wrongfully confining him and instigating the villagers against him.
The police of Mawngap out Post is enquiring into the matter and a case is being taken up.(SP News)
