Shillong, November 06: Employees of the Regional Headquarters Northeastern Region of the Geological Survey of India took the e-pledge in large numbers during the observation of Vigilance Awareness week -2016 held from 31st of October to the 5th of November 2016.
The e-pledge is the initiative of the Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi introduced during this year’s observation of the Vigilance Awareness Week targeted for not only for the employees of Government Institutions but also for the citizens of the entire country and for corporates, entities and firms etc. of the private sector to prevent and combat corruption.
The observation of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2016 at Geological Survey of India, Shillong started with a conventional pledge, on eradication of corruption and bringing integrity and transparency in all spheres of life, taken in the main office of GSI, Shillong by the employees of the organization lead by the Deputy Director General, GSI, Shillong.
During the week, quiz and debate competitions were held with a focus on the current theme i.e. “Public participation in promoting integrity and eradication of corruption”. Deliberations on various the mesrelated to vigilance and its effect on lowering corruption were conducted at the concluding session actively participated by officials of the GSI.
