Maligaon, March 28: Railway Protection Force (RPF) of N.F. Railway recovered around 158 Kgs. of ganja last week during their routine checking at different railway stations and trains. The ganja was recovered at six different railway stations of N.F. Railway and worth approximately twenty lakhs.
On 25th of March, 2022, RPF team of Guwahati post conducted a drive against contraband articles in train No. 07029 (Agartala- Secunderabad Special) at Guwahati Railway Station and arrested two persons.
During the raid the team recovered around 6.4 Kgs. of ganja from them worth Rs. 64 thousand approx. Further, the apprehended persons were handed over to GRP of Guwahati for necessary action.
On 25th of March, 2022, again RPF team of Lumding post conducted a drive at Lumding Railway Station and recovered around 10 Kgs. of ganja worth Rs. 01 Lakh approx. from a coach at train No. 15909 (Avadh Assam Express). Later the recovered cannabis was handed over to GRP, Lumding, for further course of action.
On the same day, RPF team from Lumding post, during a drive against anti-social elements & contraband goods, recovered around 38 Kgs. of ganja worth Rs. 3.80 lakhs approx. from train No. 13176 (Kanchanjunga Express). Further, the recovered ganja was handed over to GRP, Lumding for necessary action.
At Badarpur Railway Station, RPF team of Badarpur post with the help of dog squad, recovered 11.30 kgs. of ganja worth around Rs. 1.13 lakhs approx. on 25th March, 2022, from train No. 15663 (Agartala- Silchar Express). Seized items were handed over to GRP, Badarpur for further necessary action.
On 22nd March, 2022, RPF of Agartala post, during routine checking at Agartala Railway Station, seized 43 kgs. of ganja worth approx. Rs. 4.30 lakhs from train No. 13174 (Kanchanjunga Express). Similarly.
In another incident at Jirania Railway Station, RPF team of Agartala post recovered 38 kgs. of ganja worth 3.80 lakhs approx. from train No. 05675 (Agartala- Dharmanagar Special). Later, the seized ganjas, at both the incident, were handed over to GRP of Agartala for further course of action.
In another incident of 22nd March, 2022, a team of RPF, Dharmanagar post during a routine checking seized around 40 kgs. of ganja worth approx. Rs. 4 lakhs from train No. 13174 (Kanchangunga Express) at Dharmanagar railway station. The recovered ganja was further handed over to Excise of Dharmanagar, North Tripura for disposal.
On 22nd March, 2022, RPF dog squad of Badarpur recovered around 14 kgs. of ganja worth Rs. 1.40 lakhs approx. from train No. 15663 (Agartala- Silchar Express) in between Kalkalighat & Patharkandi section, from a coach. Later it was handed over to GRP, Badarpur for necessary action.
Drive against Anti-Social elements and Contraband substance is on the high throughout the country. RPF of NFR is agile and vigilant round the clock thus adding their part towards the drive against narcotics.
