Shillong, Feb 26: The Deputy Commissioner & Returning Officer, District Council Election, East Jaintia Hills District has issued instructions/directions in the matter pertaining to Prevention of use of Cellular Phones inside the Polling Station.
Polling Agent shall not be allowed to leave the polling station neither nor are allowed to substitute them by their relieving agents after 2:00 PM. Polling agents and Candidates or the Election Agent of candidate shall not be allowed to carry cellular phone inside the polling station.
Likewise, electors are not allowed to carry any cellular phone inside the polling station. Only Presiding Officers and Sector Officers/Zonal Magistrate or other officers specially authorized by the Returning Officer in this regard are permitted to carry a cellular phone inside the polling station for report/emergency official use only.
