Shillong, April 11: The Secretary of the North Eastern Council (NEC) Ameising Luikham has written a letter to all Chief Secretary of the North Eastern State stating that NEC has retain scheme but they could not gave sanction due to non submission of the Detail Project Report, this letter was also kept in the NEC website.
In the D.O. NO. NEC/PLAN/I-54/2012 (Vol-I) Dated the 24th January, 2014 the NEC Secretary write, Dear NEC has retained several projects for 2013-14 in respect of your State but most of them have not been sanctioned. The delays are due to non-submission of DPR or need for revision of DPRs as advised after scrutiny or non submission of clarifications after appraisal of DPR in NEC.
As the time available to scrutinize appraise DPRs for issue of sanctions for new projects is getting limited I would request you kindly to take a review of 2013-14 retained projects for NEC for your State [details are with the State Planning Department and also in the NEC website] and have the DPRs prepared as per checklist of NEC/ revised DPR prepared in line with advice given by NEC/ clarification sought by NEC etc. sent to NEC Secretariat, Shillong.
It would be advisable that the technical persons who would be able to explain and carry out changes in the DPRs, in case required, and senior officers of the department concerned are deputed to the NEC Secretariat to save time so that this exercise
may be completed before the 1st week of February, 2014. This may be treated as priority. Mention the Secretary NEC Mr Ameising Luikham.(SP News)
