Shillong, May 03: The District Magistrate, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh has promulgated an Order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting parking of commercial vehicles and coal laden trucks on the ground of Petrol Pump and Service Centres within the District and also parking of more than two heavy commercial vehicles and coal laden trucks in one place all along from Pahamrioh to Umling NH-40.
This Order has been issued in view that unregulated parking of heavy vehicles and coal laden trucks is taking place all along the National Highway-40 especially in the Petrol Pumps andService Centres within the District which may affect the right of way of incoming and outgoing traffic and which may also result in space constraints and congestion of the highway.
