Shillong, June 16: The Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of the Shillong City National Peoples’ Party (NPP) expresses its serious concern at the developing situation arising of the loggerhead of the KSU and the State Government over the Rail Head issue at Byrnihat.
The PAC met on the 15th June 2017 under the Chairmanship of Shri W. Kharmujai, President, Shillong City National Peoples’ Party and was attended by Shri T. Pohthmi, General Secretary, Shri Manroi Kharpuri Chief Organiser and Shri Erwin K. Syiem Sutnga, Advocate.
As per Press reports, the Congress led by MUA Government in Meghalaya is going to probe the alleged KSU-HNLC nexus following a recent statement by the HNLC. It will be of great public interest if at the same time the alleged nexus between the Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma and the HNLC can also be thoroughly investigated. The HNLC has claimed that the Chief Minister is seeking the help of the HNLC to win in the coming MLA Election in 2018. The people of Meghalaya have a right to know the truth of this nexus by the Chief Minister and this matter cannot be just swept away and be dismissed as politically motivated.
Therefore it is fitting that along with the probe into the alleged KSU-HNLC nexus, the serious allegations against Shri Dr Mukul Sangma have to be taken seriously by the Meghalaya Police with appropriate action in the interest of justice said Mr Thrangki Pohthmi, General Secretary,Shillong City NPP.
