Shillong, Jun 03: The Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma cautioned the voters of the state to be cautious on the United Democratic Party (UDP) and Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) regional alliance. What to be seen on this alliance is the back door alliance with the BJP.
Dr Mukul said that the alliance has happened since both these regional parties know that they cannot align themselves with the BJP in the state. He that alleged that the BJP is using the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) to piggy ride on the regional parties to form governments in the northeast.
The Chief Minister alleged that once the BJP penetrates into the governments of the region it will destroy the states.Dr Mukul also claimed that a regional alliance in the state has happened before and the alignment was nothing new.
On the question of Nalin Kholin want a debate on the development of the state, Dr Mukul asked “When has Nalin Kohli become a resident of Meghalaya,” .
The Chief Minister said, if Nalin wanted to know about the developmental programmes being initiated by the present government he should have been in the state five to seven years ago to see the changes that has taken place in the state so that he will see what is before and at present.
The Chief Minister Dr Mukul said that Kohli was just an audience while he is the player. In any game the “audience” makes the most noise while the “player” performs.
It may be mentioned that recently during his visit to the state, Kohli had challenge Dr Sangma to a debate in failing to provide a corruption-free administration and the apparent total lack of developmental activities in the State.
