The amendment proposal to the Sixth Schedule will see only when it is introduce in parliament

Shillong, May 23: The president of the NPP Mr Conrad K Sangma said that the amendment proposal to the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution is likely to be introducing in the parliament in the month of August in the monsoon session begin.

The MP from Tura said “yes i was told from the home ministry that the amendment proposal to the Sixth Schedule will be introduce in the coming parliament session in the month of August”. The amendment is prepared by the home ministry and they will have a copy only when it is table in the floor of the House in parliament.

The MP from Tura Mr Conrad said that, the amendment may be referred to the select committee so that they will have proper debate and discussion, on the prose and corn of the amendment proposed to the Sixth Schedule.

As a representative from Tura, he said he is very much concern about this, because this Sixth Schedule deal particularly with the tribal of the North East. He said amendment will take place but in what form, they will come to know only when it is introduce in the floor of the house in parliament.

When weather he has received in writing from the NGOs of the state seek the representative to get a copy of the proposed amendment to the Sixth Schedule, Mr Conrad said that copy of the amendment will get only when it is introduce in the parliament.
