Shillong, August 12: The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Raid Nongtung circle have urged the Home Minister Roshan Warjri, to intervene into the problems faced by the local people there due to the alleged illegal deeds of the Assam Government.
The HYC Raid Nongtung circle stated that the intrusion has brought undue grievances to the people.
Some of the demands included to permanently shift the Police Outpost located at Mawlasnai to the areas of Block-2, Raid Nongtung, Ri- Bhoi, which is a disputed area and to upgrade the police outpost to the Mawlasnai Police station.
“To immediately stop the Assam government from building a proposed police camp known as Madan Umwang Assam Police Outpost/Police station at Madan Umwang,” the memorandum stated.
They urged the minister to solve the boundary issue between Block-2, Raid Nongtung, Ri- Bhoi and Assam Government.
