Shillong, April 18: 286Recruits of 320 Batch of the Assam Regimental Centre participated in a magnificent attestation parade on 18Apr 2018 in a scintillating ceremony conducted at Parsons Parade Ground of Assam Regimental Centre. The parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General DS Ahuja, AVSM, General Officer Commanding, 101 Area. The parade ground was thronged by parents and relatives of the trainees. A large number of military dignitaries and civilian guests were also present.
In his address to the attested young soldiers,the Reviewing Officer extolled the virtues of selfless service to the nation and recounted the contributions of the North East and Assam Regiment towards nation building. Complimenting the passing out batch for their immaculate standards, he exhorted the warriors from the North East to persevere in pursuit of excellence.
Swaying to the martial tune of the Regimental song, the young recruits erupted in joyous cheer to mark a successful transition into valiant soldiers. On this auspicious occasion, the symbol of national pride “ASHOKA EMBLEM” was also inaugurated by Lieutenant GeneralDS Ahuja, AVSM, General Officer Commanding, 101 Area.
