Shillong, July 23: The A.Chick Youth Welfare Organization (AYWO) central body from Garo Hills today has sent in writing the complaints against the Public Information Officer (PIO) of the Horticulture Department of South Garo Hills District to the State Chief Information Commissioner.
In the complaints given to the SCIC the AYWO stated that the organization have received many complaints from the genuine farmers across South Garo Hills District, the organization have file an RTI with the concern PIO on the 06th March 2018. But to their surprise they were not provide with any information according to RTI Act.
The AYWO in the complaints mention that the incumbent PIO has misplace the RTI application, the organization again file the same RTI but the assistance refused to received the application stating the PIO was not present. From the organization again they went on 4th July 2018 to resubmit the RTI but from the office refused to take it.
The AYWO mention in the complaints that RTI is a constitutional right and they will not allowed to trampling on their right. The AYWO demanded an inquiry under section 18 para (a)(b) and (c) of the RTI Act against the said public Authority, said Mr SEngbath C Marak Genenral Secretary of the AYWO.
