The BSF organised a Workshop on Human Trafficking at it headquarter in  Shillong

Shillong, Feb 22: The Border security Force today organised a Workshop on Human Trafficking was organized at it headquarter. The programme was conducted by IMPULSE NGO NETWORK of Meghalaya in collaboration with BSF. BSF troops in various ranks from various parts of International Border of Meghalaya came to Frontier HQ Umpling, Shillong for attending the workshop.

Smti Rosanna Lyngdoh, Co-founder on the Board of Directors of `IMPULSE NGO NETWORK’, deliberated on human trafficking, child trafficking, HIV/AIDS awareness, adolescent health and livelihood support of rural artisans and shared her experience which she had strong expertise in networking and advocacy, resource assistance and case intervention.

The aim of organizing such workshop is to enhance and update the knowledge in the field of border guarding and to know the latest development happening around in the era of human trafficking. Sh. Kuldeep Saini, Inspector General said, “As the members of the BSF generally remain on borders and far-flung areas on the International border, such workshop enables them to familiarize with the latest development and advancement happening in the field of human trafficking, child labour, prostitution, adolescent health and livelihood support of rural craftpersons.

This also provides opportunity to share their experiences of working in the extreme conditions at the remotest of the places where BSF is deployed. So such type of workshop covering various topics in connection with human trafficking and discussion on latest trends of human trafficking (especially women/child) gives them opportunity to keep them updated”.
