Shillong, September 07: The Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) Chief Executive Member (CEM) Mr Denand T Sangma along with his executive members today met the employees in the compound of the office premise and assured them that their nine month salary, will be paid with a month, he has requested them to resume their duties from tomorrow.
Speaking to SP News Agency, the CEM of the GHADC Mr Sangma said that in spite of his promised the employees refused to call of their Non Cooperation Movement’ “I do not understand what they want then, they call the NCM to demand their salary when promised them also they did not accept” he said.
Since the NCM has lock the office of the GHADC, the CEM said that today he has written to the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintended of police of the West Garo Hills District to come to the office to office of the GHADC to unlock the office.
The CEM clearly stated that locking of the office by the NCM is illegal and the law will take its own course. The Office of the GHADC belong to the people of Garo Hills not to anybody, they cannot put the office under lock and key.
The NCM is purely politically motivate by the Congress MDC which is very clear that what has appear in the media, in the statement issued by Rupert M Sangma demanding the resignation of the CEM which is uncalled for .
The CEM, said that during his ten month leading the executive committee in the GHADC, they have paid the five month salary and nine installment of Dearness allowance and the arrear to the staff of the GHADC.
The CEM urged upon the employees to the council to resume their duties from tomorrow since the executive committee has assured them that they will clear their salary with one month time.
