The CEM of the GHADC resign without facing the NC motion in the floor of the house

Shillong, March 30: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) Mr Denang T Sangma today resign without facing the No Confidence Motion in the floor of the house after  passing the vote of account four month, starting from 1st April to 31 July 2017.

The Chairman of the GHADC, Mr Boston Marak, speaking to SP News Agency over phone, said that after the house passed the vote on account for four month, the CEM of the GHADC submit his resignation letter without facing the No confidence motion in the floor of the house.

As per the AD rules, he has inform the Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills District to iform the governor on the political development in the GHADC. Mr Marak further said that as per AD Rules 20,21, and 22, the  governor will have to call within 48 hours to elect the new CEM in the District Council.

The Chairman also said that, sub Rules allowed the governor to appoint acting CEM and two Executive members to run the administration of the GHADC till the house elect the CEM.

The MDCs of different political parties in the GHADC, when they were elected in the District Council election, the NPP 10, Congress 7, BJP 1, GNC 3, NCP 1, and Independent 5.
