Pune August 06: Indeed it was a proud moment for the 69 years old Ex Serviceman of Assam Rifles Rifleman Purna Bahadur Chhetri who received a mobility equipment from the Director General of Assam Rifles Lt Gen HJS Sachdev, PVSM, AVSM, SM, ADC.
A Rifleman Purna Bahadur was invalidated from service way back in 1977 after he suffered with paraplegia while on duty due to vehicle accident caused by a land slide in Manipur.
The individual is admitted at the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre, Pune for last 38 years. The specialized mobility equipment has been imported directly from Germany for the disabled soldier of Assam Rifles to facilitate his movement at this crutial old age.
The soldier got emotional having received the equipment by the senior most member of the fraternity of the force.
