Shillong, February 21: Ka Executive Committee of the ruling collation People Democratic Forum (PDF) let by Mr PN Syiem as the Chief Executive Member (CEM) in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council decided to bring an official resolution in the ongoing session to scrap the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) sign between the KHADC and the Uranium Corporation India Limited (UCIL).
The copy of the resolution available with the SP News Agency that will bring by the CEM in the floor of the House in tomorrow session read “This house do now resolved to scrap both the memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dated 12.01.2016 sign between the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council and the Uranium Corporation India Limited (UCIL) and the No Objection Certificate (NOC) Date 14.02.2007 issued for the proposed extraction of Uranium Ore at Kylleng – Pyndensohiong Mawthabah”.
The official resolution that will bring tomorrow further mention that, “ at the same time the Executive Committee shall constituted an independent inquiry pertaining to all aspects of the construction of the Wahkaji –Mawthabah Road undertaken by the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council”. This was sign by the CEM of the KHADC Mr P N Syiem.
