Williamnagar, January 08: While the Supreme Court has allowed land owners and coal traders to transport coal already extracted from the mines in Meghalaya from October 1 to May 31, 2017 on payment of royalty to the state government and other fees fixed by the National Green Tribunal.
The FKJGP got red handed one coal laden tuck transporting coal illegally claim the FKJGP, when they asked the owner of the coal transported they found that it belong to one officer of the government of Meghalaya trying to violate the tribunal’s rule by transporting illegally extracted coal in East Garo hills from Rongrengre reserve.
A coal laden truck belong to a government servant of Meghalaya, was intercepted by FKJGP East zone Williamnagar for transporting an illegaly extracted coal from Rongreggre reserve forest at Samanda on the 6th 1.2017
Interestingly when the members of the FKJGP went to Williamagar Police station to file an FIR it was not accepted and instead they were advised to compromise over the matter by the second officer incharge of Willamnagar Police station, alleged the FKJGP
