The GHADC employees will go for indefinite strike from tomorrow,to demand their salary

Shillong September 04: The employees of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) will go ahead with the indefinite office strike from tomorrow to demand for their salary that is pending for almost ten months.

Speaking to SP News Agency one of the employees of the GHADC, what has made them to take this collective decision to call for the indefinite strike, because the executive committee did not adhere to what they have promise to them.

The assurance given from the executive committee to the employees of the GHADC, is that they will not release any bills to the contractor unless their salary is paid, what they come to, the Executive committee has money to pat to the contractors but they don’t pat their salary.

The numbers of employees in the GHADC are 1600 and the monthly salary that is due to them is Rs.3.7 cores approximately, reveal by one of the employees of the GHADC.

The indefinite strike that the employees of the GHADC include all who are employed in the GHADC, this is a collective decision of the employees after they have waited more than two weeks as requested from the executive committee.
