Tura, August 18: The Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) has goes without salary for none month. This had made their condition from bad to worst in running their family daily expenses.
Many of the staff in the GHADC is women, when asked they said that they have no alternative but they have to take loan from private money lenders at the higher interest rate to feed their children.
The staff alleged that, with all the financial crises that the GHADC is facing yet the office is purchasing expensive table for the office used.
The Chief Executive Member of the GHADC Mr Denand T Sangma said, “ Yes iti is ture that they have not get their salary for nine month, and purchasing of Table and chair are genuine that they have to do for the Executive Members and Chairman”
