Tura, October 07: The Garo Student Union (GSU) had submitted a memorandum to their MP Mr Conrad K Sangma on his visit to Baghmara, and on the memorandum they have mention about the bad condition of Road particularly NH-62 which is the lifeline for the South Garo Hills District.
In the memorandum they also mention that the Government took repair work on this road once in a blue moon, the South Garo Hills was totally neglected by the state government. From the GSU from time to time they have written to the state government but the state government has turn a deft ears, they alleged.
The GSU also mention that the Government Higher Secondary School need up gradation in infrastructure, like hotel for boys and Girls. The school building itself is in bad condition there lick gage on the roofs of this school.
The GSU also mention that the Civil Hospital in Baghmara need up gradation, thought the government has declare 100 bedded hospital, but it has not been functioning as announced by the government. People of the District who went for treatment to this hospital are facing innumerable difculties.
There is a need to appoint civil surgeon, specialist doctors, Medical superintendent; the hospital does not have the ICU to admit people who are in need of medical care. The Hospital does not have a blood bank which is important.
The GSU also mention that government office in Baghmara are in dilapidated condition, the new build of the Deputy Commissioner office is yet to start for construction. It is unfair for the District that the government has done; the GSU also said that the DC office should be located at the proper Baghmara area.
They also express their desire that the government should kept as a priority to complete the road NH-62(E) from Goronggre to Dangsa A,we in South Garo Hills District, all the wooden bridge on the road should be replace with the RCC bridge. The memorandum was sign by Mr Chuba R Marak Preisdent and W Ch Marak General secretary of the GSU.
