The malaria health workers on the 3 day hunger strike in front of their office at Lawmali

Shillong, August 02: The malaria health worker of the state under the banner All Meghalaya Malaria Programme Workers Association (AMMPWA) started their three day hunger strike today in front of their office at Lawmali to press for their demand that the government should observed with the state government.

Speaking to media person the president of the association Mr Jedwin Lyngdoh said that they have been serving the state with the malaria programme for many years in different of the state  and naw they are over age to apply for others government job, their demand is that the state government should observed them in the government.

Thy have been running from pillar to post for their demand but no one is listening to their grievances, they have met the health minister many times and the last meeting is in the month of March this year but nothing happen, from their side they have no alternative but to take this step  by adopting this hunger strike.

The will continued this hunger strike for three day and if the government did not listen to they will  go for indefinite hunger strike not only them they will do it along with their wife and children.
