Shillong, January 04: The Public Account Committee under the Chairmanship of Mr Paul Lyngdoh today calls on the Health Department official to know when the implementations of the MHIS phase- III will start will. From the health department assure the PAC that they will be able to start the Phase- III by the first week of April.
Speaking to media person after the PAC Meeting, Mr Lyngdoh said that the official from the Health Department has inform the PAC that they have called for the tender both for the Financial bit and technical bit.
The tender for the technical bit will be open on the 11th ong this month and fro the tender for the Financial bit will be open on the 13th of this month. After this the state government will sign the MOU and by the first week of April the scheme will be implemented.
Mr Lyngdoh also told the Media that in the MHIS-II the coverage is only 46% of the population were cover under this scheme and in the second phase is only 50% of the population were cover, looking from the percentage, the people of the state have not benefited from the scheme.
The PAC today has asked the Health department to ensure that all non – government should be cover under this scheme so that people will be benefited from it. The PAC has also asked the health department that insurance company should not have any room to say that there is a bogus claim on the medical bill as alleged in the MHIS-II.
The PAC have also given direction to the health department that in the phase III of the MHIS no person should be left out from it coverage under the MHIS.
