Shillong, March 14: The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority has organised the National Lok Adalat on the 12thMarch, 2022 in all the districts of the State of Meghalaya, under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
The NLA was held under the Patronage of the Hon’ble Mr.Justice Sanjib Banerjee, Chief Justice,High Court of Meghalaya and Patron-in-Chief of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) and under the supervision of the Hon’bleMr. Justice H.S.Thangkhiew, Judge, High Court of Meghalaya and Executive Chairman of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority.
In the National Lok Adalat, 862 Pre-Litigation cases and 478 pending cases were taken up for settlement. Total number of cases taken up were 1340, and of which 220 cases were settled for a total amount of ` 1,06,40,207/- (Rupees One crore six lakhs forty thousand two hundred and seven)only was settled in the National Lok Adalat.
