Shillong: Aug 12, 2016 To commemorate and celebrate International Youth Day 2016, 42 Meghalaya Signal Company NCC organized a debate and Public speaking competition at Morning Star College on 12 Aug 2016. The theme for the event was “ The Road to 2030 Eradicating Poverty and Achieving Sustainable Consumption and Production” the main focus being on the leading role of Young Boys and Girls in ensuring poverty eradication and achieving sustainable development.
NCC Cadets and Students from Morning Star College, APS, Happy Valley and St Anthony’s College along with their teachers actively participated in the programme. Apart from students speaking on various current topics, they also showed their talent with a colourful cultural programme projecting the rich culture of Meghalaya. It was a grand success with students coming up with bright innovative ideas to deal with such important issues, Least to be said that our future is in bright and strong hands.
