The NGOs from SGH District demanded plying of coal laden should regulate in Baghmara Town

Tura, February 23: The conglomeration of NGOs of South Garo Hills District today has sent the representation to the Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills District stating that passing out coal laden truck through the main town of Bahgmara causes enormous dust to the town.

These NGOs, like the ADE, GSU, FKJGP and others who sign in the representation said that this has not only polluted the town but also has created traffic jam especially during school time and office hours in the town.

The NGOs where surprise to know from the District administration that the NGT has issued instruction not to obstruct the movement of coal laden truck, the NGOs said this is unfair why only in the NH-62 why not in others national highway.

The NGOs pointed out that before coal were allowed to transport the meeting was held in the Deputy Commissioner chamber that the coal owner will repair and construct the wooden bridge in the area bu they have not done.

The NGOs claim that the NGT has allowed only extracted coal which is still left over and by now it should be over, the conglomeration of NGOs demanded that magisterial inquiry should be order on this regard to be fair whether the guideline of the NGT was observed.

The NGOs demanded from the District administration that coal laden truck should be allowed to ply from 7.00 PM in the night to 5.00 AM in the morning if the district administration fails to impose the timing they will agitate, said in the press statement issued to the media houses.
