Shillong, April 11: The National People Party (NPP) will set up candidate from 17th North Shillong Assembly Constituency in the upcoming general election to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly due in early 2018.
The NPP has form the Organising Committee of the National Peoples’ Party for the 17th North Shillong Legislative Assembly Constituency Scheduled Tribe in a meeting held at the residence of Mr. Erwin K. Syiem Sutnga at Umsohsun.
In the meeting the NPP has form the Adhoc Organising Committee of the National Peoples’ Party for the 17th North Shillong Legislative Assembly Constituency and they have elelcted Mr. Shaiphar Rani as chairman, Vice Chairman of the Northern Sector Mr. Gordon Kharshandi, Vice Chairman of the Southern Sector Mr. Mohan Lilani, the secretary Mr. Andrew Donald Marwein, Chief Organisation Coordinator Mr. Robinson Kharkongor and many others office bearers.
The Organising Committee reviewed the present political situation in the state and unanimously resolved that the NPP should put up a candidate for the ensuing general elections to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly slated for 2018. The name of Mr. Erwin K. Syiem Sutnga, Advocate was proposed and approved as the Proposed Candidate of the National Peoples’ Party (NPP) for the said MLA elections from 17 North Shillong Legislative Assembly Constituency (ST)
