Shillong, June 16: The Police claim that on 15.06.17 an arson attempt was foiled, when at about 8.40 P.M, a group of five KSU Members with the intention to commit arson were intercepted by SOT Personnel on patrol at Golflink, Lailad.
On trying to flee, a scuffle ensued where one SOT Personnel was injured by a deep cut and shifted to Civil Hospital. However, while others managed to flee, one KSU member, Mr. Samuel L. Nongpiur, 23 years of Mawlai Mawroh was apprehended, and a plastic jar containing 2 liters of Petrol and 4 Maruti rubber tyres were found and seized.
The police has register a case vide Sadar P.S C/No. 135(6)2017 U/S 188/341/435/511/353/326/34 IPC has been taken up. Investigation is on to nab the rest of the culprits.
