Shillong, July 18: Smti Specially Wanniang of Mawtawar Laitlum has file a missing compliant On 27/6/2016, to the police that her son Mr Damankhraw Wanniang age 25 years has been missiong from the date that she ha s file the complaint.
On the 4/7/2016, Smti Wanniang received a mobile call informing that her son is in the custody of the caller who demanded Rs 30,00,000/- for his release.
On receiving this information the Mawlai Police immediately took up the investigation and arrested five suspects namely, namely Mr Klemenroy Nongtri of Mawlai Nongkwar, Mr John Fishal Lyngkhoi an HNLC Cadre arrested earlier of Mawlai Mawtawar, Mr Richard Wahlang of Mawlai Nongkwar arrested many time earlier for assault,Mr Shanborlang Rani of Mawlai Syllai Kariah arrested earlier in connection with a murder case and Mr Kitboklang Kharsyntiew of Mawiong arrested earlier for assault but none of them were cooperating with the investigating agency.
But ultimately, on 17.07.16 based on some leads, a search was conducted in the jungle at Mawlai Mawtawar and a fresh dug earth was excavated in presence of Magistrate and a naked male body fully decomposed was found. It is believed to be that of the missing person. Further investigation is on.
