The RPF of the N.F.Railway arrests two touts, one One criminal Guwahati Railway Station

Maligaon, Nov 03:  The Railway Protection Force of N.F. Railway has been successful in apprehending good number of touts over the year during special drive conducted at many places.

These touts use to book and  purchase railway tickets in false name by giving fake information and documents etc. and then sell the same to other passenger by taking a premium.

These passenger while undertaking journey by train land into trouble as the ticket is in the name someone else. Genuine railway passenger also faces problem as a result of the same.

To check the menace of touts, RPF has been conducting drive on receipt of information. In one such case on 18.10.2020 CIB Team of RPF of Guwahati conducted decoy check in a shop namely Cyber Planet, located at Noonmati, Guwahati-781020.

After collecting sufficient evidence regarding involvement of the said shop in the illegal business of Railway E-ticketing, on 01-11-2020 CIB/Team of Guwahati along with officer and staff of RPF who Post in New Guwahati conducted search in the said shop with the help of local police Noonmati PS under the supervision of Inspector of the CIBand RPFof Guwahati.

The search was conducted in presence of shop owner namely ; Nayanjyoti Deka, 33 years, of  Paltan bazaar Guwahati , Assam and could recover total 13 number of railway E-tickets generated using personal user ID. Total value of the recovered e-tickets is Rs. 10,430/- of which 04 nos used ticket worth Rs. 3,754/- and 09 nos future tickets worth Rs. 6,676/-.

On being asked, the owner of the shop confessed that he doesn’t have any IRCTC authorization certificate and generated the above recovered railway E-tickets through personal user ID for his benefit.

As such, the recovered railway E-tickets along with other relevant items have been seized by RPF/CIB/Guwahati and the owner of the shop namely Nayanjyoti Deka has been taken into custody and produced before RPF/New Guwahati with a written complaint. In this connection RPF/New Guwahati has registered a case vide No. 60/2020 U/S 143 Rlys Act, dated 01-11-2020.

In another case at Katihar division of Bihar on 28.10.2020, acting on information regarding touting activities, Inspector of RPF of Barsoi; Nazrul Khan and Inspector  of the RPF of Samsi; Mr Vinit Kumar along with their team conducted raid and search at village  Khuriyal Purab Tola under Azamnagar police station and apprehended one person namely, Md. Anayat Hussain alias Chamroo, 30 years.

From this person they recovery of 12  E- tickets, valued Rs. 19,681/- of which 08 Live E- Tickets worth Rs. 16,067/- & 04 used E-tickets worth Rs. 3,614/-),  One Vivo mobile phone and one printer Brother company. In this regard, a case has been registered at RPF Post, Barsoi vide No. 100/2020 dated 28.10.2020 u/s 143 (1) Railways Act.

The RPF also arrested  one person namely, Sariful Haque reported to on duty RPF at Rangiya station that while he was in queue for procuring Tatkal Ticket at PRS of Rangiya, two persons came, threatened him and snatched away his 01 Oppo  mobile phone, cash  Rs. 3,350/-,  and one wallet containing Pan Card, cash Rs. 22/- and  some documents.

Immediately, the RPF  Sub Inspector Mr. Mukul Chandra  Saloi along with Head Constable Mr. Premjit Paul, Constable and others Post, Rangiya swung into action and apprehended one person namely, Bikram Sarma, 23 years of  Kamrup District Assam with recovery of the snatched articles and  cash. Later, the arrested person was handed over to OC/GRP/Rangiya who registered a case vide No. 21/2020 u/s 384 IPC dated 28.10.2020.
