Tura, March 24: The Chief Minister Mr Conrad K Sangma said that,A high powered committee was selected along with the Chairman. But when the appointment was about to be given, elections came and the process could not be completed on the apointent of the Lokayukta.
The Chief Minister said that now they are going to do it. Now that the new government is formed , we will called a meeting again and all procedures are already in place, said the Chief Minister on the gueiry asked by the supream Court why the state have not apointed Lokayukta.
The selection committee and the high powered committee are there with the Chief Justice, Chief Minister, Leader of the oposition and the Speaker and this committee will sit very soon and we will start the process. Because the Chairman of the first committee refused to accept the post, all the effort were in vein. So now the whole exercise will be done again.
