Tura, August 10: Today, morning at around the SF-10 Joint Operation Team from South Garo Hills and East Garo Hills hit and destroyed a ‘General Camp’ which was being set up by GNLA near Dabalgre at the foothills of the Durama on the borders of South and East Garo Hills.
This was a camp formed deep into the jungles for regrouping and training of new cadres for the already weak and broken GNLA. Left over GNLA leaders like Sohan D Shira, Baichung Momin, Baltush and Kartush were there in the camp along with around Twenty odd new recruits brought together for training in the Durama jungles.
It is also known that around an equal number of ULFA were also present in the camp when it was attacked by Police Commandos.
On getting hit, all the cadres ran helter skater into the deep jungles. After a general search of the area a SBBL Gun, many detonators, gelatine sticks, ID Cards and huge amount of Blood stains and marks were found from the place.
This is a huge success again for Meghalaya Police and a blow to the attempts of GNLA to regroup Operations in the area have been intensified with new mobile Commando Teams introduced to completely sanitize and dominate the area.
The Mobile Commando Teams have been specially equipped with hi-tech gadgets and instruments to navigate and operate even in night time and bad weather conditions. In addition to that new teams have been sent to camp at various tactical locations and conduct incessant Operations.
