Guwahati, October 28:The two day annual media fest, Convenster 2016, organized by the department of Mass Communication, AIMT, Guwahati and sponsored by Canon and Wild Trail concluded today here at ITA, Machkhowa, Guwahati.
The Fest saw a great enthusiasm and zeal among college students of the region for participation in various events like Pictogram, Jingle Making , Radio Jockeying, Act like Charlie, Ignited 6.0 a panel discussion on “has digital media taken over conventional media and Quiz. The students of the department showcased their skills in not only in the competition but also in the cultural evening.
This year’s panelists for Ignited 6 were, Mr. Mrinal Talukdar Senior Journalist DY 365, Mr. Bikash Kalita pioneer of e-book in Assam, Mr. Suresh Ranjan Goduka Journalist, Mr. Sushanta Talukdar Journalist, Mrs Sangeeta Kakoti Associate Professor, Arya Vidyapith College.
This years’ upcoming Journalist Electronic and Print of Assam was awarded to Mr Chakrapani Parashar News 18, and Mr Rituraj Borthakur The Assam Tribun) respectively.
Various events were embraced by famous personalities from different fields, like RJ Mandy (Red FM), Mr. Arpan Kalita & Himadree Bhuyan, Dipankar Bhagawati , Mr. Rajiv Kro (Actor), Samujjal Kashyap Nation Award winning Documentary filmmaker, Mr Utpal Boruah(Eminent Photographer.This year the event paid tribute to Charlie Chaplin, the pioneer figure of film industry to mark his 126th birthday.
