To keep the IRT informed training cum Mock Drill held at Civil Hospital, Nongpoh

Shillong September 23: In an attempt to create awareness and to keep the Incident Response Team informed of their role and responsibilities, the District Disaster Management Authority, Ri Bhoi District has conducted a two-day training on Incident Response Team on 21st and 22nd September, 2016 at the Office of DM&HO Conference Hall followed by a Mock Drill on Earthquake on the 23rd September, 2016 at Civil Hospital, Nongpoh.

The Mock Drill aims to put into practice the Incident Response System and for assessing the preparedness of the Accident Response Team and other stakeholders in case of any Disaster occurrence.

The Observer, Shri S. Bordoloi, Consultant, SDMA lauded the efforts of the DDMA in organizing the Mock Drill for the benefit of the general masses of the area. He also said that DDMA and other line Departments of the District have shown their preparedness in tackling and mitigating any form of Disaster.

Staff of the Office of the DM&HO, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh, Nurses and Doctors of Civil Hospital Nongpoh & Bethany Hospital Nongpoh  S.P ‘s office, Fire Service, SDRF & MeCEL, MPRO and Students of Nomiwell Memorial School participated in the Mock Drill. The Drill was examined by three Observers,  Shri S. Bordoloi, Consultant, SDMA, Shri Y. Laloo, E.E. PWD (Roads), Nongpoh and Shri S. Marsing, DSP Crime.

Shri D. P Kharsati, CEO & ADC, DDMA, Smti Y. R. Mawlong, EAC and Smti P. Lyngba, ADPO were among others present during the Drill.
