Shillong, May 20: Today two senior’s militants of the National Hynniewtrep Liberation Council (HNLC) surrender before the home minister of Meghalaya Mr James K Sangma in the presence of the Director General of Police Dr S B Singh, in the DGP office.
The two members of the militants who surrender were, Mr Aiborlang Thongni who also known as Bahbah from the Millage Mapud of South West Khasi Hills District, he Joined the outfit in 2001, he was train in Chittagong in Bangladesh he stay at Bilwa he was one of the senior most among the militants who stay in Bangladesh.
The women cadre Smti Rishalin Syiemlieh also known as kong Lin surrender today she joined the outfit at the age of 14 years. She is from Phodjaud Village of South West Khasi Hills District, immediately after joining the militant organization she was taken to Chittagong for training. She was closes to senior leaders of the HNLC.
Both these senior carders of the HNLC married in 2013 and they were blessed with two chirdrens. Both decided to surrender as the life as members of the banded outfit will do harm to their Children as they will not grow up in the normal environment.
