With a view to shift to a DFE, DC Jowai is organising awareness campaign for use of PoS

Jowai, December 03: With a view to shift to a digital financial economy and cashless transactions, the office of the Deputy Commissioner in collaboration with SBI and HDFC is organising an open awareness campaign 1st time in Meghalaya on the 8th December at 11am in the Conference Hall of DC Office.

The awareness programme is  mainly aimed at traders, shop keepers, hoteliers, even hawkers. However anyone can come and attend the camp. You are aware that there is acute cash shortage in the market due to demonetisation.  The office of the DC Jowai urged everyone to go cashless, install PoS (Point of Sale) machines in their business transactions and adopt mobile payments.

The benefits of having PoS in your shops is Portable sim based machines,Lowest monthly rental of Rs.200-300, Lowest transaction cost of less than 1% (all transaction cost waived off till Dec 30th), No cash handling, no theft, no burglary.

Fewer or no cash transactions and saves your time and efforts and resources in counting, re-counting, storage of cash and depositing it in the Bank. This allows merchant to spend more time and focus on important things like managing and growing your business.

Getting the facility of making payment through Credit, Debit or pre-paid cards may lead to customer satisfaction. By accepting payment through cards, sale proceeds are credited electronically in your current account. So you can keep track of your account on your mobile phone itself.

The facility of making payments through Cards encourages customers to spend more as they are not constrained by cash on hand resulting in increased purchases and profit for the trader.
