Shillong, July 25: With the rest of the country, NEIGRIHMS also observed the Population fortnight, during which counseling to eligible couples for adopting small family norms was given by our senior nursing officers and community nursing of Community Medicine Department. Various contraceptives were displayed and distributed to the people visiting the family planning counters.
The population fortnight observation was concluded to day, a mass awareness Program was organized in the OPD foyer, where in Dr. Himashree, Assistant Professor of Community Medicine and Dr. Panda, incharged HOD Gynecology and Obstetrics addressed the patients, attendants, visitors and staff of the Hospital, and explained the benefits of small family norms and the various methods available to adopt small families.
The Medical Superintendent, NEIGRIHMS, Dr. Prof. Noor Topno, described the observance of population fortnight a success, wherein many visitors of the hospital benefits through the valuable advise by our experts.
