Shillong, March 31: The101 Area Football Championship 2017-18 was conducted at Assam Regimental Centre under the aegis of Headquarters 101 Area from 28 to 31 March 2017, wherein a total of four teams from various Army Formations participated.
In the thrilling final match played between Assam Regimental Centre and 58 GTC Football Team on 31 March 2017 at Garrison Ground at 0730 a.m, Assam Regimental Centre defeated 58 GTC by a score of 02–00 goals and won the 101 Area Football Championship for the year 2017-18.
The Chief Guest of the closing ceremony was Major General Satish Kumar Dutta, Chief of Staff, 101 Area, who gave away the prizes to the winners and runners up. Major General Satish Kumar Dutta, congratulated the winners and also complimented Assam Regimental Centre for organising the event flawlessly.
