Alert Railway Protection Force rescues 26 children from the clutch of traffickers

Maligaon, Nov 02: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway successfully rescued as many as 26 minor boys and girls from railway premises from railway stations and trains during the period from 15th to 30th October, 2018.

In one of such case on 22.10.2018, at about 10:30 AM while checking raiway police detected two minor boys and  one minor girl age between 14 and 17 years travelling in the said train without any guardian all are from Sonitpur District of Assam.

As such, they were first detrained from the train and later their parents were informed over phone. Later on, the rescued boys and girl were handed over to Chariduar police station of  Sonitpur District,Assam after taking consent of their parents.

In another such case on 15.10.2018, while checking at  Goalpara Town railway station, rescued two runaway minor girls both were from Bongaigaon District Assam. Matter was informed to their family members and subsequently, the rescued girls were handed over to their parents after proper identification.

It may be mentioned here that RPF has been successfully rescuing run away child as well as child from the clutch traffickers regularly. During current year upto October, RPF has rescued nearly 700 children from railway premises as well as from running trains.  17 traffickers were also arrested during this period and actions were taken as per rule.
